Anger Management Services for Women
ASSESSMENT
All services begin with an anger  assessment interview.  We complete a thorough evaluation of your anger to determine which services meets your needs.  The assessment last 75 minutes and includes taking an anger inventory, and a personal interview with Norma Myers, LMFT,   She is the person who provides services for women at Anger Transformation Services.  Because she understands that it can be difficult to talk about anger, she creates a supportive, non-judgmental atmosphere to put you at ease.   The fee for this service is $125.00.
 

COMING TOGETHER WITH OTHER WOMEN IN GROUPS IS POWERFUL.  MANY PEOPLE WHO TAKE THESE CLASSES CALL IT "LIFE CHANGING".

GROUPS
Our groups provide a safe and confidential place to talk about anger and how it is affecting your life, with other women who share your experiences and understand.  The groups are small; only 5-8 women.  This way each person has time to share and to get the individual help they need.  The groups run weekly, for 12 weeks and is 1 1/2 hours per session.  There are 3 different levels of groups and are designed to be taken sequentially. 

All of the groups are part skills training and part personal sharing.  You are given weekly assignments to complete.  This allows for a greater degree of learning and change.
  • Level One:  In level one we work on stopping the anger now.  It is important to stop reacting in anger so that you can regain your self control and self respect.  In this class you will learn tools to get your anger back under control.
  • Level Two:  Much of anger comes from frustration over trying to get our feelings heard and our needs met.   We yell or throw things to try to be heard, but all people hear is the anger.   Our frustration and anger build.  In this class you will learn techniques for identifying and communicating your feelings and needs so that they can be meet.  
  • Level Three:  Here we go further into understanding the childhood wounds that keep you in the frustrating cycle of repeating the same mistakes over and over again.  
The cost of the groups is $40/week, Payable at the beginning of each month.  Sliding scale available.

Individual and Couples

We also offer individual and couples counseling in conjunction with groups or instead of being in a group.  There are many cases where individual therapy might be a good choice for you.  During the initial assessment it might be decided that you would work best in a one to one setting because: 1) you need to delve into issues that are not the focus of the group.  2) you are too self conscious to be in a group  3) you are likely to be overtly judgmental of others or 4) There is no group available for you to join at that time.  In those situations  it is best to work in an individual setting where there can be more attention paid to your particular issues. The fee for individual therapy is $120.00/hour.
 
We also provide therapy for women who are in the group and would like to work more intensely on an issue that arose in group.  A 25% discount is given to those who are in the anger management classes.

Since anger is an issue that often effects relationships, we provide couples counseling for people to help them learn to communicate more effectively and to develop skills for relieving the stress they are experiencing.  Couples therapy lasts for 70 minutes each session.  The fee is $150.00.  Again those taking the class receive a 25% discount.
