ANGER MANAGMENT FOR
ANGERFOR MEN AND WOMEN

MEN AND WOMEN
DO YOU HAVE PROBLEM ANGER??
Ask Yourself
  • Do you find yourself yelling and screaming several times a week?
  • Is it hard to let go of things when you do get angry?
  • Does it seem like you and your partner are fighting all the time
  • Do you find yourself replaying events over and over getting angrier each time?
  • Do you  feel irritable and cranky far too often?
  • Are you slamming doors, blocking your partners way, throwing things, even physically aggressive?
  • Are you afraid of how your anger is affecting your children?
  • Has anger become unbearable in your life?
YOU KNOW YOU HAVE PROBLEM ANGER WHEN IT:
  1. Lasts too long.  If one anger incident can keep you angry all day, all week, or even longer.
  2. Happens too often.  If you find yourself angry more often than not.
  3. Is too intense for the situation.  When you find yourself exploding over even small things, and/or
  4. It leads to verbal or physical aggression.

Does this sound like you?

If yes, then it may be time to make a change in your life.
But what?  In my view you have at 4 choices:
  1. You can continue doing the same things you have already tried and insure that everything stays the same.
  2. You can try to force yourself to stop being angry and punish yourself if you slip up.  Which is akin to putting a lid on a pot of boiling water without turning off the heat.  The tighter the lid the greater the explosion when it gets too hot.
  3. You can go into individual therapy with an anger specialist and find ways to calm yourself.  This is a good option if you want a lot of individual attention or are not comfortable in groups.
  4. You can join an anger management group facilitated by a therapist who knows how to help you make the changes you desire.  This way you not only learn from your own experiences, but from the experiences of others.
