ANGER MANAGMENT FOR
ANGERFOR MEN AND WOMEN
MEN AND WOMEN
DO YOU HAVE PROBLEM ANGER??
Ask Yourself Some Hard Questions
Am I yelling and screaming several times a week?
Is it hard to let go of things when I get angry?
Does it seem like me and my partner are fighting all the time?
Have I lost relationships because of my anger?
Do I replay events over and over in my mind getting angrier each time?
Do I feel irritable and cranky far too often?
Am I slamming doors, blocking my partners way, throwing things, even being physically aggressive?
Am I afraid of how my anger is affecting my children?
Has anger become unbearable in my life?
YOU KNOW YOU HAVE PROBLEM ANGER WHEN IT:
Lasts too long. If one anger incident can keep you angry all day, all week, or even longer.
Happens too often. If you find yourself angry more often than not.
Is too intense for the situation. When you find yourself exploding over even small things, and/or
It leads to verbal or physical aggression.
Does this sound like you?
If yes, then it may be time to make a change in your life.
But what? In our view you have at 4 options:
You can continue doing the same things you have already tried and insure that everything stays the same.
You can try to force yourself to stop being angry and punish yourself if you slip up. Which is akin to putting a lid on a pot of boiling water without turning off the heat. The tighter the lid the greater the explosion when it gets too hot.
You can go into individual therapy with an anger specialist and find ways to change your patterns and thoughts. This is a good option if you want individual attention for your problems and/or are not comfortable in groups.
You can join an anger management group facilitated by a therapist who knows how to help you make the changes you desire. This way you not only learn from your own experiences, but from the experiences of others.
